Tokyo Christmas

On Christmas break, 2012 I traveled to Tokyo, Japan. It was my first time to visit this East Asian country and I had high expectations from so many years of romanticising about this modern Asian megatropilis. Japanese culture had always been fasinating to me, from feng shui, to Zen, to the ways of the ancient Samurai warriors, to the ninja's of Hollywood folklore, to videogames, to traditional Irezumi tattoos, to the strange fashion subcultures, and lastly, to the cuisine. Well, actually, to be fair, I've never been that fond of Japanese cuisine. I'm not a huge foodie snob. I never took to sushi. Ramen, sure. Who doesn't like it? But, despite my lack lustre desire to become aqcuainted with the Japanese cuisine, I did find myself ingesting more than a few gastronomical delights.
